VIOLIN/VIOLA LESSONS

Helena holds a Suzuki Teacher Certificate for violin, viola, and cello. While she uses the Suzuki method as a foundation, she combines it with her own teaching experience to help students develop strong music-reading skills and a solid understanding of music theory. This approach enables students to broaden their musical horizon beyond the method books.

As a certified Suzuki Violin and Viola Teacher, trained at the Southwestern Ontario Suzuki Institute (SOSI) and the Institut Suzuki Montréal, Helena teaches violin and viola with a focus on tone, posture, and musical expression. Her leadership extends to the community, where she is the founder of Kids on Strings and co-founder of Hello Strings. Through these programs, she has coached and led violin and viola sections, fostering ensemble skills and a love of collaborative music-making among young string players.

The Suzuki philosophy aims to create a learning environment that mirrors the way we acquire our native language - through listening, repetition, and encouragement. Frequent public performances are an integral part of Helena's teaching, helping students feel comfortable, confident, and joyful on stage.​
